It’s Wednesday and this week’s brief for Top Five Wednesday is ‘Books You Wish Had A Sequel’. I’m going to be talking about stand alone books and completed series that I need more of. Obviously, Harry Potter is something I want more of but I’ve decided not to include it in this list to leave room for everyone else.
Uprooted by Naomi Novik
I adore this fairytale-style novel and desperately need to read more. I am emotionally attached to all the characters and would love to have a sequel.
This week’s Top 5 Wednesday is ‘Characters You Defend’. You can check out the Goodreads Group for Top 5 Wednesday here. And so, without further ado, here is my list of characters I love, but feel the need to defend.
Severus Snape from J.K.Rowling’s Harry Potter is not the best of people but I have been defending him for as long as I can remember. I was seriously relieved when he was revealed to be in on the right side in the last book, I felt vindicated. I believed in you, Severus, always. Read more
Top 5 Wednesday is a Goodreads group hosted by gingerreadslainey from YouTube. Every week brings a different topic and this week’s is ‘Suggested Books You Loved’ – books recommend to me that I have enjoyed greatly.
Shadows of the Apt by Adrian Tchaikovsky is my favourite adult fantasy series. It is comprised of ten marvelous books so I thought I would tell you ten reasons to read this brilliant series.
The Intergalactic Book Tag was created to celebrated the release of Starflight by Melissa Landers. It’s a YA science fiction novel about a criminal girl, an arch nemesis, and space pirates. Space Pirates! Sounds seriously cool. All the questions in this tag are space themed and awesome.
Top 5 Wednesday is a Goodreads group created by gingerreadslainey over on YouTube. Every week brings a new Top 5 topic and this week is Biggest Badasses. So, without further preamble, here are my Top 5 Badasses from books that I have read:
5. NEVILLE LONGBOTTOM from Harry Potter by J.K.Rowling. Neville is one of the bravest people I have ever read about. He is scared of so many things that he faces everyday. He doesn’t skip Potions even though he is terrified of Professor Snape and he stands up to his friends when they are sneaking out. He also cuts the head off a giant evil snake. Neville’s sheer bravery is what makes him a badass in my eyes.
Today I am going to be doing the Harry Potter Spells Tag. This tag was created by TurtleSympathy over on YouTube. For this tag, you pick some spells from Harry Potter and write questions about books to go with them. I have used a combination of spells/questions written by other people and ones I came up with myself.
