I cannot quite believe it is July already! My two most anticipated book releases of 2016 are happening this month and I am so happy! Here are the books I hope to read this month!
Demigods and Monsters is the second book in Raye Wagner’s Sphinx series. I started the first book, Curse of the Sphinx, three days ago and have devoured it and the accompanying novella Origins of the Sphinx. I’m already part way through this book and enjoying it immensely. Read more
Today I am going to be doing the TBR book tag! Let’s get cracking!
How do you keep track of your TBR pile?
I don’t keep track. I shelve my books alphabetically and do not keep unread books separate. I just know which ones I’ve not read. In the case of books I don’t own, I do have a wish list on bookdepository.com so I don’t forget which ones I want to buy. I should probably use the ‘Want To Read’ shelf on Goodreads but I always forget. Read more
I’ve decided it’s time for another Read-A-Thon experience and this time I have decided to go for a shorter one, Dewey’s 24-Hour Readathon. It takes place on Saturday 23rd April and everyone around the world starts at exactly the same time, my start is 2pm. I will be trying to stay awake for the full 24 hours and read as much as I possibly can. We’ll see how that goes.
There are few things comparable to the pure joy of finding a new fantastic series. It fills me with excitement, knowing that I have a long list of books that I am guaranteed to enjoy. I’m always a bit tentative to begin with, I will buy the first book and give it a try. If I enjoy it, I abandon all good sense and binge buy the rest of them. If I do not like the first book, it goes back on my shelf and I forget all about it.
The real pain appears when I adore a series that has not yet been completed. Sometimes I time it well and only need to wait a couple of months for the next installment. Sometimes I have to wait years. It can be excruciating. Or I forget about it …
I’m attempting to read 100 books in 2016, this works out to be about 8 books per month. In January I managed to read 13 books, I’m ahead but I want to stay ahead in case I have a lapse later on in the year. There are eight books on my TBR this month; I already own six of them, one was sent to me for review and the last is for my book club.
