The Intergalactic Book Tag was created to celebrated the release of Starflight by Melissa Landers. It’s a YA science fiction novel about a criminal girl, an arch nemesis, and space pirates. Space Pirates! Sounds seriously cool. All the questions in this tag are space themed and awesome.
SPACE – Name a book that is out of this world … Ready Player One by Ernest Cline is set in our future and, for the most part, takes place in a virtual reality. This virtual reality completely blew my mind; it has a world for everything. You can go from a sector full of Joss Whedon’s creations and straight to Tatooine or Hogwarts. I loved the sheer imagination of this novel and the opportunities in provided for fangirling.
BLACKHOLE – A book that sucked you in …The Martian by Andy Weir is about Astronaut Mark Watney and his struggle to survive alone on Mars. This novel sucked me in immediately and I couldn’t rest peacefully until I’d finished it. A truly phenomenal book.
LIGHTSPEED – Name a book you are anticipating so much you would travel at lightspeed to get it … I cannot wait for the third installment of the Kingkiller Chronicles. I loved the first two books and am desperate to find out what happens next.
NEBULA – Name a book with a beautiful cover … Uprooted by Naomi Novik. A beautiful cover for a beautiful story.
MULTIVERSE – Name a companion novel or spin off series that you love … I really haven’t read any companion or spin off novels apart from Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. I really enjoyed this heist adventure but I haven’t actually read the original Grisha Trilogy.
GRAVITY – Name your favourite romantic pairing where the characters seemed pulled together … My favourite is definitely Che and Thalric from the Shadows of the Apt series by Adrian Tchaikovsky. They just keep running into each other, constantly being thrust together until it finally happens in The Scarab Path. I was so happy.
THE BIG BANG – Name the book that got you into reading … For me, there is the obvious Harry Potter answer.
And then there is also the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer. The first book in this series marked the first time that I stayed up all night reading.
ASTEROID – Name a short story or novella that you love … The Sleeper and the Spindle by Neil Gaiman. It is beautiful retelling of Sleeping Beauty with gorgeous illustrations. I felt so magical when I read it.
GALAXY – Name a book with multiple points of view … my favourite series with multiple points of view is the Shadows of the Apt by Adrian Tchaikovsky. You get to see all sides of the story and see things from the perspective of characters that you aren’t as familiar with. It gives you the opportunity experience the story from every angle.
SPACESHIP – Name a book you would name a spaceship after … Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. How cool would that be?
Hope you enjoyed the Intergalactic tag! What book would you name your spaceship after?
